Recruitment of Probationary Officers and ProbationaryOfficers (Rural Business)


Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers and Probationary Officers (Rural Business) in State Bank of India. Candidates selected are liable to be posted anywhere in India. In case of POs the selected officers will remain under Rural Business Group for a minimum period of 10 years. Vacancies for OH & VH category candidates are reserved horizontally. Vacancies including reserved vacancies are provisional and may vary according to the requirements of Bank.



Number of Posts:
  • Probationary Officer (PO) : 2500 posts (SC-345,ST-372, OBC-621,UR-1162) (PH-136), Qualification : 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks in class XII or Diploma course after 10th standard AND 55% (50%) aggregate marks in Graduation irrespective of Pass Course or Honours Course, Age : 21-30 years as on 28/02/2010. Relaxation as per rules., Pay Scale : Rs.10000-18240/-
  • Probationary Officer (Rural Business) : 2000 posts (SC-300,ST-150, OBC-540,UR-1010) (PH-60), Qualification : Same as above, Age : 21-30 years as on 28/02/2010. Relaxation as per rules., Pay Scale : Rs.10000-18240/-



Eligibility Criteria:
  • For General Catagories: 60% aggregate marks in XIIth or in Diploma after Xth standard and 55% aggregate marks in Graduation.
  • For SC,ST and PWD Category: 55% aggregate marks in XIIth standard or in Diploma after Xth standard and 50% aggregate marks in Graduation.

Age Limit: Not below then 21 years and not above 30 years as on 28.02.2010 that is candidates should have been born not earlier than 01.03.1980 and not later than 28.02.1989.


Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years. They will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 11,880/- in the scale of Rs. 10000-470/6-12820-500/ 3-14320-560/7-18240.


Selection Procedure:
Phase I:
Written Examination : Combined objective and subjective paper,duration 3 hours and maximum marks 250


Objective paper:
  • Test of English Language
  • Test of General Awareness,
  • Marketing & Computers
  • Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • Test of Reasoning
The total duration of objective type test will be 2 hours.
Subjective paper: Essay writing and paragraph writing on social issues. The total duration of objective type test will be 1 hours


Phase II: Group Discussion & Interview. Phase 2 will be organized for candidates who qualify phase1 with min marks.

Final:
The final selection will be performed on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in both phase1 and 2, 40% for general category and 35% for SC, ST, OBC, PWD.


DATE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION: State Bank of India will organize examination on 11/04/2010

Application Fee: For ST / ST / PWD Rs 50/- postal charges and Rs 500 /- for other then SC/ST/PWD Candidates are required. Fees must be deposited between 01.02.2010 and 28.02.2010 in any CBS branch of State Bank of India.
